Surgical Gynaecology

Complementing the Obstetrics department, the Hartford has a team of 6 surgeons specialised in surgical gynaecology available 24 hours a day:

Surgical procedures are undertaken both in emergencies and on a planned basis. A full range surgery for women is offered:

• Breast surgery involving both benign and malignant tissues
• Pelvic surgery: uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes
• Functional surgery, e.g. urinary incontinence

Doctor Jean Masson manages a plastic surgery unit.

The theatre block has 3 operating rooms where laparoscopies (coelio-surgery) can also be performed. The hospital has 11 surgical beds, 4 in single rooms. Pre- and post-operative consultations take place on the ground floor of the hospital in the Out-patient consulting department, by appointment.
