This examination is particularly used in order to detect an early onset of osteoporosis in menopausal women.
The examination studies the density of bony tissues by measuring the
absorption of bi-photonic or X-rays.
This illness affects the skeleton and is characterised by a loss of bony tissue
accompanied by an alteration in the structure of these tissues leading to an
increased risk of breakages and fractures.
Osteodensitometric examinations are part of the services offered by the Centre for Medical Imaging.
